About Debbie.

Debbie L Davis is married to her best friend, Larry, and they make their home in Savannah MO. They have 3 grown children and 8 wonderful grandchildren.

Debbie grew up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as her Savior at a very young age. There was always gospel music playing in their house, in the car, as well as at church. Family singing groups like, The Hinsons, The Rex Nelon Singers, The Hemphills, and The Happy Goodman Family played a big part in Debbie's love for gospel music.

Early in her teens, Debbie began writing poems and little "songs". By the time she got married and started a family, she was writing compete southern gospel songs.

In the summer of 1994, she fulfilled a lifelong dream and started her own Southern Gospel trio, Full Life Trio. By this time, she was already writing, so Full Life Trio began recording her songs. You can find many of those songs on YouTube, iTunes, as well as their web site.

In 2014, Debbie's songwriting started a new season!

Debbie says, "I attended my very first Write About Jesus Conference in Sept 2014. Sue C Smith and the many songwriter clinicians that taught during those 3 days gave me a renewed urgency to write more and to be a better songwriter. I also met a lot of other songwriters just like me, and many of those turned into life-long friendships and opportunities to co-write."

Debbie remembers the spring of 2015 - "I realized that if I wanted to start pitching my songs to other artists, I needed some good demos. I was given contact information for Tony Griffith and sent him my first song to have a demo done. Tony called the day he sent the demo back and said that him and his wife have a group and they wanted to cut my song, "He Restores". So, my first professional demo ended up being my very first cut! God works in mysterious ways, for sure!"

In 2016, Debbie and her new co-writer friend, Bernadette Negus, entered a song they wrote in the Singing News Songwriter search and won the grand prize (One of three). As a result of winning, their song was chosen by southern gospel group "The Erwins" to record.

2017 Debbie signs with Crossroads Music as a staff songwriter

After a year of submitting songs to Greg Bentley with Crossroads Music, and having a few single song contracts, Greg asked Debbie to come aboard as a staff songwriter. Once again, a new season began and Debbie continues to write, co-write, and pitch songs to artists looking for original material. If you'd like more information on obtaining a mechanical license to record any of Debbie's songs, please contact her at debbie@oneblessedchicky.com.

Debbie is so thankful for the mentors who have taken the time to encourage, teach, and believe in her songwriting. Just to name a few: Sue C Smith, Belinda Smith, Joel Lindsey, John Chisum, Reba Rambo, Kenna West, and Melissa Brady.
